Things you should have learned in Kindergarten
and a bit of payback to those who make fun of Floridians going through hurricanes.
If you build your house too close to the ocean, you will at some point get water in it. If you live by the ocean in the northeast, that water might have ice in it certain times of the year. Mother nature plays no favorites and there is a reason she doesn't like houses and seawalls built near her waters.
If you live in the northern states, you are going to freeze your butt off at times and be hit by blizzards and be buried in snow at times. Buck up and embrace your home, you chose to live there.
If you buy a ticket on an airline during January, or anytime of the year for that matter, expect to get stuck in the airport for hours or days at a time because of weather. Mother nature plays no favorites when it comes to weather. If you don't want to be stuck in an airport, check that little app on that phone your nose is always stuck in, and make an informed decision as to whether to show up at the airport at all, maybe even decide to reschedule your trip.
If you live where there are blizzards and ice, keep your azz off the roads if you don't know how to drive in that crap because 70 car pile-ups are not good. If you do know how to drive in that crap, stay off the road anyway, because there are too many idiots who don't know how to drive in that crap.
If you live in the south, you still might get stuck in an airport so follow the above advice. If you live in the south, you might lose power because mother nature might surprise you and send five inches of snow your way, or an ice storm which pretty much guarantees you will lose power. Buy a kerosene heater, they work great during those times.
If you live anywhere, north, south, east, or west. Be prepared for emergencies. It just makes sense. Don't wait until the day of the storm to stock up on essentials.
And finally, and I have been waiting for months to say this ---
Florida is not "merely a sandbar" and the fact that you even said that, shows why you are merely a secretary.
Stay safe, stay warm, this too shall pass. Be like us Floridians, ride it out and get over it!!! 😜
