It's hard to believe it is October already. Today is my oldest grandson's 17th birthday. I could have sworn he was turning 16 but he called me last night to thank me for his gift I sent to him and he insists he is 17. I hate how time flies and kids grow up and I grow old and there is still so much I would like to do, but know I probably won't get to do those things.
I wanted do to more traveling than I have, but the way things are between the covid crap and lockdowns and the crazy protesters and rioters in various places... Well I am not going to venture outside my state for now. But that's okay. Florida is a big state and there are so many places I have not seen right here at home. Funny, I call it "home" now. It took me a long time to feel that way, but I have been here 20 years now and it is actually feeling like home, finally. I still miss seasons, but do I miss them enough to move away from my family, kids and grandkids? Probably not.
So anyway, at the end of this ramble I will post some pictures from my daytrip last week. I figured if I can't go far away, I would find adventures in my own backyard so to speak. There is a state park about and hour's drive from here that I have never been too, so that was my first destination. Across the road from the park is beach full of coquina. If you don't know what it is, look it up. Hahaha. I never knew about this beach and it is only an hour away! Anyway, pictures later.

I have decided that I really hate politics!! Truth of the matter is, except for a brief time in my 40's or maybe my 30's, I have never gotten in a tizzy over any political candidate. Since this country is so divided at this time, I decided I would watch the debate the other night. Big mistake!! It was almost embarrassing to even watch those two go at each other and interrupt each other and lie and talk over each other and never really answer the questions. I felt like I was watching a demented circus act or something. I have come to the conclusion that we are stuck between the choice of a narcissistic clown and a senile old puppet. So I am left with no choice but to vote for................

Omg, beautiful pics Lia! I see why you love it where you live. Happy Birthday to your grandson! Wow where does the time go??? I imagine it's still the land of eternal Summer for you lol. Today's high was 62. Yep the seasons you miss. I'm seeing the leaves beginning to change already.
ReplyDeleteOk you Kanye is running on the platform "Beyonce is the best singer ever!" After watching the grade school debate, would Kanye be so bad of a choice LOL! Sorry I haven't posted for awhile, I'm in that state where I think of something I want to write but scrap it before my fingers hit the keys. xxo
Hey Greg! The weather is starting to get a bit cooler but nowhere near as cool as you have though we are supposed to get in the mid 60's a couple of nights. I don't know where time goes, but wherever it goes, it is gone! I miss the Fall colors up north and even in South Carolina where I also lived for 20 years, we had some pretty colors. Don't see much of that here if at all. I have thought of lots of things to write over the last several weeks, but then I don't sit down when I think of it and it goes away before I do finally turn the laptop on!! I hate that too since I used to be such a prolific blogger. Anyway, glad to see you here and I hope you are recovering well from the procedure you had. xoxo

ReplyDeletePhotos are BEAUTIFUL! I need to explore some local parks too! As for the debate...it conflicted with Green Acres reruns so I could not watch the debate! I don't think I missed anything...and I 100% agree with you with respect to politics.
ReplyDeleteHahaha, I wish I would have watchecd Green Acres instead of the crazy fest!! There are some very nice state parks in upstate South Carolina. I took my kids camping up there every summer when we lived in SC.
DeleteI doubt that I would have watched Green Acres when it was prime-time but now I really enjoy it because it's genuinely funny...yeah...maybe it isn't sophisticated humor but the writers do make some points and Eva (Ava?) Gabor plays here part so well as do all the supporting characters...to me it's much better than anything I may wander across that is current. I gave up tv decades ago but when I do occasionally see a bit it really looks like mostly garbage to me. Give me Green Acres, Get Smart & Batman!
DeleteOh...and yes...I REALLY do need to explore the parks around here...did do a mini tour shortly after I arrived here but nothing since.
