My jumbled up mess of a blog

Been awhile since I posted on this particular page of my "Mindstorm".  This one is open to everyone and their mothers and brothers and grandpas etc, so I don't always feel comfortable writing here. Thus the other pages that my regulars are privy to.

It's a chilly morning here in the land of eternal summer.  See, it is still summer if you compare it to what some other people are going through this week. As a matter of fact, there were mornings growing up in northern Indiana, summer mornings mind you, that were in the 40's. So yes, I live in the land of eternal summer.

As most of you know, Google+  will become defunct in April, at least that is what they are saying. I have informed most of my contacts here that I have moved to MeWe which is sort of like Fakebook without all the ads and BS and trackers you get when you become enslaved by that soul sucking experiment that has made Mark Zuckerberg rich.   Yes, I like everyone else opened a Fakebook account many years ago but I soon saw it for what it was and disabled my account.  I guess I don't need everyone I ever knew or crossed paths with sending me "friend" requests even though we were never friends.  I just don't care to be part of their 586 fake friends so they can look good.   At any rate, I disabled my account because at the time there didn't seem to be a way to delete it.

Recently I signed back into it and I see nothing has changed. People are still posting soundbites of videos to prove their particular political bias, or to justify their hatred for Trump that causes them to go completely wacko and scream at the sky.  Yes, that really happened, there is a day set aside for wackadoodles to go outside and scream at the sky in protest.   Sorry, hold on while I go puke...

So anyhow, my best friend who has gone over to the dark side had posted the latest fake news video about the Covington boys which I won't go into as everyone by now has surely heard this story.  I, being who I am, decided to call her out on it.  But most of you know I am not an argumentative person so I just asked her to please watch the full video and see if it changed her mind.  Oh my gosh!!!  Her reaction was a perfect example of Trump derangement syndrome LMAO.   God forbid they take the time to look at the truth.  No, it might shatter their illusions, put a hole in their bias, kill them even because the truth does hurt.

Anyway, my daughter and I got a good laugh over her reaction and moved on with life because you know, that is what I do, I LIVE my life in peace and contentment.

Suffice it to say, one day on there told me all I needed to know and my account is now disabled again.  And I did see that they finally made it possible to delete your account if you want and which I might just end up doing except once or twice a year, I like to get on there and LMAO at the mindlessness of people and what they will argue about, truth be damned.    It makes me realize how sane I actually am.   ðŸ˜œðŸ˜ĩðŸĪŠ

In other news, my sister will undergo 8 weeks of radiation treatments starting in February. She had a bad spell a couple of weeks ago where we thought we might lose her, but she pulled through on that and she is ready to continue the fight.  She is one strong lady, my baby sister. 💖  Thank you to the two people who bothered to care, Sir Rusty and Greg.   I love you guys. I really really love the heck out of you.

So I got sidetracked here and now I have to get my butt moving and get some work done but never fear, I shall return.  It ain't over till it is over, and the fat lady hasn't sung yet.

Much love from Me to you all.

Abandoned Blogs

I took a walk through the land of Blogger and was surprised to find it has become like an old abandoned town full of abandoned houses where people left in a hurry, not bothering to take their belongings with them.  If you have ever been in an old abandoned house, what is left behind tells a lot about the people who once lived there, the people who made the house a home, kept it alive.  It's always quite sad to me, to see the everyday belongings of a person's life left right where they were used last, covered in dust and mold, or rust, or the droppings of rodents.

I always wonder what caused the person to leave, and to leave everything behind.  Did they die? And if they did, was there no one who cared enough to come in and pack up their belongings, or maybe keep a few things to remember the person by?  I've read of whole towns full of abandoned houses full of clothes, furniture, dishes, etc.  Like the whole town left all at once for some reason unknown to anyone now.  A mystery that may never be solved, but lots of stories could be told to try to explain what actually happened.

So, last night I wandered through the land of Blogger and I wondered what became of all these wonderful people. Funny people, intelligent people, creative people and some dull ones too.  Where did they go??

There are so many blogs that people started here on Blogger.  Some of them had written for years and then one day they just stopped. No word of explanation, just a blog that was posted as usual, like any other day, as if the person would be back the next and the next.  But something happened and they never returned. Sure, some of them probably passed away.   I wonder if their family knew of their writing or if the person kept it hidden from the people they cared about the most.  Maybe it was a place where they could express thoughts that they could not express to their friends or their family. But oddly enough, they could express to complete strangers in the Twilight Zone.   I can understand that, as I have done it myself from time to time through the years.

Regardless of the reason, I have enjoyed strolling through the land of abandoned blogs and reading what all the missing people had to say.  I hope one day some of them will return and make this a thriving little "town" again.

As for me, I will blog till one day I don't anymore, and if that day comes, it probably means I am dead, or disabled, or locked away in some old folk's home with no internet access LOLOL.

I guess I will end this here, but I will be back!!  I love my blog too much to leave it alone and lonely ðŸĪðŸ˜

Morning walk at the river

I got a late start this morning and missed the sunrise, so decided to go walk down at the river instead of at the park near my house.

There were all kinds of birds down there this morning. A real bird lovers paradise so you know me, the crazy bird lady had to stop and talk to all of them and take their pictures.

One thing you don't want to do is stand under the street light when there are a bunch of pigeons sitting there. Unless of course, you like pigeon poop on your head!

This ahinga caught my eye as I walked by.  He wouldn't hold still so I wasn't able to get a very clear picture of him.  Maybe if I had had my other camera which is better at stopping motion.

I know what this bird is, but the name slips my mind at the moment.  I know they are protected because when they were building the new mall here one of them made a nest on an old structure in front of that mall. They couldn't remove it until the nest was abandoned.  Oh I just remembered, it is an osprey.  See my brain isn't totally gone.

A heron, always one of them where there is water

Little sandpiper on a rock

Boats at the marina

So that's it for this morning.  I know you guys just love walking with me LOL.

Have a beautiful day!!!!

Morning was pink and blue, and then golden

I will never grow tired of being outside where nothing else matters but the beauty of creation (or the big bang for those of you who prefer that).

I've gotten out to walk every morning this week starting Sunday. Hoping to make it a habit, at least through the rest of Fall and Winter before we are back to hot as hello Florida~

A few words, a lot of pictures

Yesterday I started back on my morning walks which fell by the wayside over the summer because it was too darned hot outside for normal people, even Florida people.

It was in the 50's yesterday and also this morning so it was a perfect time to get back out there and get moving.  Plus my daughter, middle daughter who lives in Orlando somehow snookered me into signing up for a 5k walk/run (I will be walking I am sure) with her that is coming up in December.  Now I realize that 5k is only 3.1 miles or something like that, but when one hasn't been overly active during an extremely hot summer, one becomes a bit out of shape.

So I am doing something about that now that the weather is cooler in the mornings. Today I brought my camera and got some pictures where I walk.  I can't do that everyday as I found out I am such a picture hound that I stop too many times to take pictures and that does nothing for momentum.

It was beautiful out there today with the mist over the water (more smoke on the water) and there were a few birds around which is a bonus for the crazy bird lady.    It's really the perfect place to walk with a paved drive around it and also a dirt road if one gets tired of walking on pavement.

So shutting my fingers now so I can post a few morning pictures.

One of my favorite birds, the blue heron

The sun was just coming up over the trees when I arrived.

I startled the Ibises and a couple of them flew away

 but some of them stayed

More views of the lake, the smoke on the water !

Looking across the park from the other side

I think this sign was telling me I was walking way too slow lol !  Might be because I was taking too many pictures. ðŸ˜ģ😎

This park comes with it's own park kitty cat.

So I still have a ton of pictures so I will post those on a second (third, fourth, fifth?)  blog post.

whatever comes out of my head at 7:33

Just a lot of nothings from my pea brain at 7:33 in the morning.

How did these cookies all get broken since I put them in the ziploc bag last night???

Men should be strong, not grovelers!!!  I can't respect a groveler but a strong man is so desirable.

Is it a mental illness if someone is obsessed with politics?  It seems like there are a lot of one dimensional people out there.

I've got a million things to do before next week, but I am looking forward to being somewhere cooler because this is supposed to be Fall.  Hopefully there will be some color up there.

Bacon is good, but bacon hates me. Everytime I cook it, I get burnt and one time it literally jumped out of the pan and attacked me like a possessed pig!!!   But that chicken last night was sooooooooo good.    (Figure that one out)

I love my son, he has grown into such a well grounded responsible young man.

How come I hear all these birds in the morning, but never see them anymore????  Maybe they don't like my choice of bird feed???

I miss Idaho!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Even if I am 80 years old I WILL live there someday.

Oh cool, the city bought new garbage trucks!  How exciting!!  LOLOL

Should I even post this???   Ahhhh might as well, it's all I've got.

That's all. I have to pee.

Bye

PS: I stole all of these pictures from the internet except the one of my son.

Oh yeah, words of wisdom for today.

Okay, now I am gone.

Bye

6:41 AM somethings (from the archives 2015)

An old post from 2015 with a message if you care to see it.

I  tried to wake up for the sunrise, but didn't quite make it this time .

So I lay in bed for a few minutes pondering something , just another "something" in a life full of "somethings" .

Life is like that, there is always "something" and sometimes the "somethings" try to drag a person down.  After almost 60 years of living, and lots of bumps and bruises and hurts and heartaches from trying to fly too close to the ground , I have learned to fly high above the "somethings" and do my best to remain aloft without becoming too aloof .

Every now and then I find myself falling, but it is rare these days that I allow myself to crash to the ground .  Because I don't like getting hurt, so when I feel like I am falling, I pull myself up and away , aloft  and  (aloof)  from all of life's "somethings" .

I don't know how many more years I have in this life, but one thing is for certain. One day, like everyone else who has come and gone from this life, I will grow weary of trying to remain aloft and (aloof) .  It is then that I will flap my wings one last time and fly into the sun and vanish ...

*****************

My wish for all of you today is that you find yourself soaring above and beyond all of the "somethings" of life that would drag you down.

Much love,

Lia~

I was there when the sun rose

On that very first day

I witnessed the birth of mankind

I've seen men die in every possible way

And watched generations come and go

I've seen earthquakes and fires

Famines and plagues

And survived through it all

I've seen philosophers and leaders

Politicians and priests

Been witness to their every abominable lie

I've heard about all that man has to say

But unlike me, they seem to stop

Whereas I beat on to the tick of the clock

I was there when you were born

I'll be there when you die

I have no rhythm I have no rhyme

But through all these years

I am still Time

Yes my friend, I have seen it all

September

I know, it is still August but in a couple of days it will be September and it was just yesterday a couple of us were lamenting the fact that it was the first of August so I am just making myself start September early so I can get used to the fact that time just keeps rolling on and I am rolling right along with it.

The kids up in Georgia will be arriving next Saturday and will be here for a week so I am cleaning house and getting the guest room ready for them and trying to decide what I am going to cook while they are here because that is one of the things they like the most, my cooking.  Right now there is some really loud thundering going on outside.  It reminds me of the loud rolling thunder I used to hear back in Indiana. We were almost surrounded by woods where I grew up and for some reason that made the thunder sound really loud and it would roll on forever.  Thunder down here has always been quick like claps of thunder, but lately, I mean this summer, we seem to have more rolling thunder.  I have no clue why that is, but it is.

Plus it was something to write and fill in blank space on this page 😜

On October 8th, well actually on the 6th I am heading up to see my baby sister in Tennessee.  I am leaving on the 6th and will stay two nights at the base with the kids then drive on up another five hours to where my sister lives.  I haven't seen her in a number of years and now I am kicking myself for not going to visit. No real excuses, just busy with life and most of my trips the last few years were to Idaho to see my daughter.  I guess I thought my sister would always be there and eventually I would get to see her again, but now I am wondering if she will make it till October because, without going into detail, I will just say it is not looking good.  Somehow it seems so unfair, she is 10 years younger than me, but the grim reaper doesn't play favorites. He is out to get us all sooner or later.

Then in November my middle daughter and her husband are taking me to see Jersey Boys over in Orlando. That is a musical which is based on Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.  I like musicals so I know this will be enjoyable.  And I think they are sweet for including me in this outing.

The following week my son is taking me to see Ray LaMontagne !  Yes!!!  I had seen he was coming to Orlando, but figured I should not spend the money for the ticket and then my son texted me last week and told me to save the date because he had bought tickets to take me.  He is such a sweetheart, he pays attention to what I like and he usually finds a concert to take me to every year.   It helps that he has a very eclectic taste in music so he likes a lot of the same things I like along with all kinds of other things.  I think LaMontagne appeals to the non-existent poet inside of me 😏

Then of course in November, there is Thanksgiving and even though I have been cooking for close to 40 years, I am still expected to cook again this year .  I have really grown to hate turkey BLAH!!  Now I do it mostly for the grandkids though. Traditions ya know...

Well that is about all for now. Actually I have a gazillion things I could write, but no time at the moment and I am surprised I found time to write this useless bit of information about yours truly.

Have a great week everyone!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all. Sorry I have not been on lately.  I had a bad cold and cough starting at Thanksgiving. I was finally getting over t...
